In an industry obsessed with the “next big thing,” true power belongs to those who built the foundation.

When I founded MusicPromoToday, the landscape looked nothing like it does now. There was no Spotify. Instagram, TikTok didn’t exist. The concept of “digital music marketing” was virtually unknown. While the rest of the industry was still desperately trying to push physical CDs in Walmart and brick-and-mortar stores, I saw the future on the screen.

The Origin: Before the Hype

The inception of the agency wasn’t an accident; it was a pivot born from demand. It started with clients from iNexxus, my branding and marketing firm, who were crossing over from corporate sectors into entertainment. We were handling marketing, advertising, and branding back-to-back for artists and labels who had nowhere else to turn for digital strategy.

My “lightbulb moment” came with our first major project: Warner Music. We were tasked with launching Masspike Miles when he signed with Maybach Music Group. I realized then that the old model was dead. We didn’t need store shelves; we needed screen time.

At that time, the tools were primitive. We built empires using strictly Facebook groups, personal profiles, fansites, and the early days of Twitter. Through this hustle, I connected with songwriters and producers from the Cash Money Records network. That network became the bedrock of MusicPromoToday. We became the first online agency to offer dedicated music press, digital marketing, and music PR in a unified package.

Tech DNA: Why MusicPromoToday MPT Agency is Different

Most music agencies are started by music fans who learn marketing later. MPT Agency (the acronym for MusicPromoToday) was built the other way around. We are a marketing and tech company first.

Before we dominated the charts, we were driving online sales and community growth for global giants. We cut our teeth working with Fortune 500 brands, telecommunications leaders like Bell Canada, and disruptors like Virgin Mobile. We managed campaigns for everyone from “mom and pop” online shops to massive corporate entities.

This background gave MPT Agency a lethal advantage. We brought the rigor, data analysis, and global know-how of corporate tech into the loose, often chaotic music business. We applied strategies tested in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe to artist campaigns in the US. We don’t just “hope” a song goes viral; we apply a decade of global tech experience to ensure it does.

The Scale of Dominance

Today, the roster speaks for itself. MusicPromoToday works with the “Big Three”, Universal Music Group, Warner Music, and Sony Music, alongside the biggest names in Pop, Hip Hop, Classical, and World music.

We have moved beyond simple “exposure.” We engineer velocity. It is not uncommon for our clients to hit multi-seven-figure reach within the first hour of a release, not the first week, the first hour.

However, MusicPromoToday is not just for the established elite. In an era where labels are lazily hiring social media influencers to pretend to be musicians, we have doubled down on true A&R. We scour the globe for genuine talent—newcomers with raw skill and apply our machinery to their careers. We value the art, not just the algorithm.

Freedom vs. The Gatekeepers

The philosophy at MPT Agency is fluid because the definition of success is personal.

For some artists, the goal is independence. I believe independence is freedom; it is what humans need to prosper. For those clients, MusicPromoToday builds the infrastructure they need to own their masters and their future.

For others, the goal is velocity. They are ready to work with the gatekeepers because they know it unlocks doors faster. In those cases, we position them to leverage the labels for maximum impact.

Whether it is known as MusicPromoToday or simply MPT Agency, the mission remains unchanged since 2011: we don’t just participate in the music industry; we force it to evolve.
